Joanne started teaching at a young age with the hope of passing her knowledge and love of dance onto the younger generation. 

During her 13 years experience of teaching dance Joanne has seen her career grow through hard work and dedication.  

Having passed her R.A.D Advanced 2 exam Joanne was awarded A.R.A.D. status earning these letters after her name as an Associate of the Royal Academy Of Dance.  From here her desire to teach grew and she undertook her teacher training through the Royal Academy Of Dance.  During this time Joanne was selected into the Bachelor Applied Arts / Dance: Bachelor Education degree at UNSW and within 4 years had completed both her degree and her teacher’s certificate with Distinction.  This led to the further completion of her Teaching Diploma through the R.A.D. after 2 years of study.

Joanne completed her Masters Of Dance Teaching from Queensland University Of Technology.  This led to the eventual placement teaching classical ballet and contemporary dance at UNSW.   It is here where Joanne currently works as well as running her dance school in the Illawarra. 

In addition to the dance school and her teaching commitments Joanne has choreographed many items for Regional and State dance festivals, Southern Stars, various eisteddfods, assisted with rock eisteddfod and has taught at State dance camps and workshops as well as teaching casually for schools on demand. She is also a member of the Australian Dance Adjudicators Association and is accredited to adjudicate eisteddfods in all styles of dance.   

Joanne hopes that her growing wealth of knowledge in dance will provide her students with strong foundations in all genres of dance and that her love of dance and all it has to offer will be instilled in her students now and in the future.
