The weekly arco class will allow the children to experience and develop many skills in a safe environment where correct technique, posture, spacial orientation, body awareness, co ordination and strength will all be of prime importance. Lesson will begin with a thorough warm up (so it is important not to be late), flexibility and strength components necessary for skill development, practice of skills, introduction of new skills and cool down . The children will progress to more difficult skills as their level of physical preparation and mastery of initial skills develop.
Initial skills to be taught include handstands, cartwheels, rolls, jumps, leaps, basic combination work, strength, flexibility and body preparation. As core strength and physical preparation develop and improve, children will move on to more difficult skills such as handstand pirouettes, round offs, forward walkovers, tinsicas, handsprings and aerials; backward walkovers, valdez, flic flac walk outs, flic flacs; one handed cartwheels and baranis.
Classes will be designed so that children will progress with individualized instruction depending on their stage of development. Please note that no child will be allowed to attempt skills that are beyond their level of ability or stage of development.
