Lisa is a dance artist with a multi-faceted practice which includes performance, choreography, video, sound, Flamenco, and therapeutic arts.
As a dance educator Lisa has worked for West Australian Academy of Performing Arts in the Dance and Musical Theatre Departments, Bangarra Dance Theatre, Sydney Dance Company Public Classes, NAISDA Dance College (where she was Course Coordinator), Accessible Arts, Australian College of Physical Education and the full-time dance course housed at Ireland’s Firkin Crane Choreographic Centre. She has also taught at numerous high schools and organisations in Australia and overseas, and has led classes and workshops for adults and children with disabilities and mental health issues.
Lisa has created many professional works both for herself and small groups as commissions and in independent projects that have been presented in theatres and festivals throughout Australia and internationally. In recent years, Lisa has been involved in residencies and projects with Critical Path, De Quincey Co. Tasdance, Merrigong Theatre Company, Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre, Big Ci and Wollongong and Goulburn regional galleries. She was a finalist in the 2018 Meroogal Women’s Art Prize and third prize winner in 2016 for her video works, softly softly.and Women’s Work. Recently Lisa was a finalist and recipient of a “special mention” in the first International Contest for Mature Soloists as part of the Festival of International Contemporary Dance in Mexico City.
