Rachael started dancing at the age of 7 and at 14 moved to Joanne Grace School of Dance to continue studying ballet, jazz, lyrical, tap and contemporary. Rachael has always involved herself in dance and performing arts throughout her schooling, performing at Dance Festival, School Spectacular and as a company member for Southern Stars. Rachael has completed Grades 3 to Intermediate Foundation British Ballet Organisation examinations with distinction as well as Intermediate to Advanced 1 Royal Academy of Dance examinations with merit and distinction.
Rachael undertook her HSC dance subject at Joanne Grace School of Dance during 2016 where she found her passion for safe dance practice and teaching dance. On graduating, Rachael achieved 92 in Dance and an overall ATAR of 95.2.
Rachael has recently become a certified Ready Set Dance Teacher and looks forward to teaching the program to inspire and encourage young children to develop a passion and understanding for dance. She has also undertaken Marie Walton Mahon Progressive Ballet Technique course, enabling her to teach the junior, senior and advanced course levels to help students understand muscle memory, alignment and weight placement.
Rachael’s passion for teaching has seen her undertake multiple workshops and courses to deepen her understanding of dance and received statements of attainment in Developing dance improvisation skill as well as Working effectively with diversity.
At present, Rachael studies a Bachelor of Health & Physical Education at the University of Wollongong and looks forward to graduating in 2020 to work as a school PDHPE teacher.
