CUA40120 Certificate IV in Dance

This full time program is designed for the passionate and dedicated student wishing to pursue a career in dance.

It is open to all advanced students and may be taken by both existing and external students to the studio.

This is a nationally recognised qualification, CUA40120 Certificate IV in Dance

This qualification is delivered under a partnership arrangement with Empowerdance RTO : 40397.

WHY CHOOSE THIS OPTION

A Certificate IV in Dance course allows the students to train towards a career in dance without having to balance their schooling with the demands of dance.  Specifically targeted at Years 11 and 12 students who are school leavers and in pursuit of a professional dance career.

At the completion of a Certificate IV in Dance students have the ability to receive a University entrance mark and may still gain university entrance in the future should this be required.  Students are required to take theory subjects and maintain their Language Literacy and Numeracy skills through the medium of dance.

This course would be valuable for any student wishing to aim for a career in the classical or contemporary dance fields.

This course comprises 13 units – 6 core and 7 elective units chosen by JGSoD to reflect the objectives of our training. Our program runs 5 days a week from 8.30am – 2.30pm.

3. CORE CUADAN417 Develop expertise in dance performance techniques
4. CORE CUAPRF414 Develop movement skills for performance
5. CORE CUAPRF415 Rehearse for performances
6. CORE CUAWHS411 Apply movement and behavioural principles to conditioning
7. ELECTIVE CUADAN413 (a) Develop expertise in jazz dance techniques
8. ELECTIVE CUADAN418 (a) Develop expertise in ballet techniques
9. ELECTIVE CUADAN419 (a) Develop expertise in contemporary dance techniques
10. ELECTIVE CUACHR311 (b) Develop basic dance composition skills
11. ELECTIVE CUAMUP311 (b) Prepare personal appearance for performances
12. ELECTIVE CUADAN423 (a) Develop expertise in lyrical dance techniques
13. ELECTIVE CUADAN432 (a) Improvise advanced dance sequences
