Susan Seaton holds the Solo Seal award, the highest examination awarded by the Royal Academy Of Dance and now a Life member of the Academy. Susan studied under the respected Halliday sisters in Sydney and was a soloist with the Tasmanian Ballet under the directorship of Sir Kenneth Gillespie, working with many choreographers including Graeme Murphy. Susan danced with Malmo Ballet and returned to Sydney and begun her teaching career under the guidance of the Halliday sisters who had a tremendous influence on her teaching. She has had her own ballet school in the Sutherland shire and now works as a freelance teacher. Susan is a practical teaching supervisor with the Royal Academy Of Dance. In this capacity she examines young teachers on behalf of the academy, a role that she enjoys immensely. It allows her to share her advice and knowledge with the next generation of teachers.
